SWR Data Publishes 2025 'State of Cams' Report

LOS ANGELES — Adult industry market research outfit SWR Data has published a report on the streaming habits of creators in 2025.

The report, titled “State of Cams,” provides data on the current cam market, income levels, platform usage, and technology adoption and retention.

According to the study, 43% of creators regularly livestream, down from 51% in 2022. Of the streamers, 21% use mainstream video chat platforms such as Skype and Zoom, while approximately the same percentage use fan platforms.

Additionally, 86% of creators polled responded that they were open to livestreaming, though they cited camming's "time-sensitive nature" as a potential hurdle.

“Adult creators love the idea of streaming, but want more flexibility,” said SWR Data co-founder MelRose Michaels. “We’re running complex businesses with multiple revenue streams. Platforms that understand what makes creators successful will ultimately be successful with creators. ‘State of Cams’ is a critical tool to help platforms understand what’s happening in the creator community.”
